"CASA provides an invaluable service not only to the 102nd District Court but to all courts they serve. I say this confidently based on the number of years I have been working with and relying on CASA volunteers. The information and perspective they bring to the courtroom regarding the cases they are assigned cannot be replaced. Their relationship with the other participants (CPS, lawyers, parents, children, and others) gives them a unique opportunity to shape the trajectory of a case. When I turn to the CASA volunteer and ask their position, I know I'm receiving information not only in the best interest of the child or children to whom they may be assigned, but information which will help bring a case to an appropriate resolution."
