What It Means to Be a Champion

Champions in Action are local churches, businesses, and organizations that partner with CASA to ensure every child in foster care has a voice. Whether through hosting an info session, sharing our message, or supporting events, Champions in Action use their influence to make a difference right here in our community.

What We Do

Through Champions in Action, church and businesses partner with CASA to:

  • Raise awareness about the needs of children in foster care

  • Encourage members to serve as CASA volunteers

  • Provide support through prayer, outreach, and community engagement

  • Help create stronger, healthier families in our community

Why It Matters

Children in foster care often face uncertainty and difficult transitions. CASA volunteers stand by them, giving each child a consistent voice in court and a caring adult they can trust. By becoming a Champion in Action, your church and/or business helps change the trajectory of a child’s life and offers hope for their future.

The Need Is Great

Right now, our community faces a critical gap—there are more children in foster care than CASA volunteers to advocate for them. Every child deserves a voice, but too many are still waiting.

By becoming a Champion in Action, your church, business, or group can help close this gap. Your support—whether sharing our mission, hosting events, or encouraging volunteerism—directly helps ensure children have someone speaking up for their best interests.

Ways to Partner

Churches Can:
  • Promote volunteerism: Share CASA’s mission and volunteer opportunities during services, in bulletins, or small groups.

  • Host a CASA Info Session: Invite us to speak or host a brief “Lunch & Learn” for your congregation to learn how to become a CASA volunteer.

  • Support Volunteer Advocates: Pray for CASA children and volunteers, or “adopt” a volunteer to encourage throughout the year.

Businesses Can:
  • Encourage Employee Volunteerism: Allow employees flexible time (3–5 hours per month) to serve as CASA volunteers or help with outreach events.

  • Promote CASA Internally: Display volunteer recruitment materials in breakrooms, newsletters, or company communications.

  • Host a CASA Info Session: Let us share our mission and volunteer opportunities with your team.

Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves;
ensure justice for those being crushed.
Yes, speak up for the poor and helpless,
and see that they get justice.
